Today
is Madison's first birthday and Grandma, Mommy
AND
baby are all sicker than dogs, as the saying goes-
with
sinus infections that have hit all over MO!
We have
had no winter to speak of so none of the allergents
have
been allowed to freeze off- everything is still
growing
and the air is full of sneezy, coughy things.
I could
not go for my usual Wednesday day with my
girls
yesterday because I have been too sick to drive
more
than to my store and then home and, of course, they
are 94
miles away. To make my illness even worse, when
I
called to tell my daughter I could not come she let
me know
she and the baby had been sick since Sunday,
same as
ME, and did not want to worry me! Eek!
Madi's
big birthday blast is Saturday and I was supposed
to go
meet the rest of Daddy's family, enjoy the party
and
then get to bring my Princess home with me until
Monday
but if I do not get much better QUICKLY, that will
just
not be happening. The party is still on, Madi is
happy
in between crabby bouts and the doctor told my
daughter
that they could carry on as usual since the
angel
is responding so well to the antibiotics.
I just
cannot see *wasting* my precious visiting time
if I am
feeling miserable plus would not drive with
her in
the car if I was not 100%- and as badly as I
will
hate to miss her first birthday bash THERE-
I have
her one planned here, as well and it can be
anytime
at all. Luckily, one year olds do not know
or care
and then we can really stretch out the
celebrations!
Sorry for rambling, but ... ya know.
:-)

End Of The Year Questions
(Ideas For Excellence in the New Year, Part
One)

What
false, unreasonable, or otherwise non-truthful
expectations
from myself or others am I bearing that
need to
be constructively dealt with or completely
laid
aside?
Reviewing
my current needs and desires, are there any
routines
or disciplines from my past I should seriously
revisit
at this time?
If
neither time nor money were issues in my life...
Who
would I pay more attention to?
Who
could I pay more attention to?
Who
should I pay more attention to?
Names
of the people who immediately come to mind:
1.
2.
3.
If my
paying more attention to someone who comes to mind
seems
to add more pressure than peace, could I still do so
through
small, achievable chucks of time? What could make it
work
for me?
Initial
ideas for small, achievable actions in small units
of time

What
life lessons from this past year should I record or pay
attention
to? Not simply general lessons about life.
Rather...
the deeper, most meaningful reflections that
should
be recorded or acted on in some way.

Feedback
Hi Jan,
There's
nothing like a first birthday party. My twin
grandbabies
each had their own little cakes and let
me tell
you they were wearing most of them! They
had
icing on their faces, clothes, hands and in their
hair.
Poor Kyle even had icing in his eyes! A few
tears
helped wash it out!
I hope
you have as good a time as we did, and I
just
KNOW you're going to take a million pictures!
Have
fun,

Jan,
Glad to
hear about your seeing the oldest *and* for the
grandchild. Sherry and I have 5 grandchildren now...
pictures
around the house and all!
I also
wanted to share two articles with you that I just
wrote: maybe
you can use them sometime. I'll send
those
separately.
It
appears that things are "settling down" for you a bit
since
some of the recent more difficult times you past
through:
super.
The
best to you in all things, Jan.
