Use A "Tell A Friend" Script To Get Traffic
Webmasters are always asking how to increase the flow
of traffic to their websites. During the past few years
many methods have been developed and frankly, some work
and some do not.
One of the methods that have truly helped in driving
traffic to websites is viral marketing. This practice
makes use of the tendency of a person to share something
they find informative, entertaining or amazing.
Many companies bank on this behavior to spread their
products and increase the popularity of their company
or their website. Viral marketing makes use of many
mediums including using an interesting story, an
addicting game, an amusing video and many others
that may interest friends, family and colleagues.
This ingenious form of marketing is typically low cost
and is a wonderful tool for any company to utilize.
The benefit greatly overshadows the cost or efforts
to initialize this marketing scheme. Any website would
greatly benefit that viral marketing.
"Tell A Friend" Script
One of the easiest methods in viral marketing is using
a "Tell A Friend" script. This is a simple programming
script that you can paste into the html of your website.
Generally, "Tell A Friend" scripts are installed on a page
where a person can easily send the media to any of his
friends or family members.
The basic concept of a "Tell A Friend" script is for your
referrer to input his name, e-mail address, the recipient’s
e-mail address and send the media to the intended recipient
much like an e-mail with an attachment. When the recipient
receives the e-mail he knows it is not spam as he would
see the sender’s name as someone he knows and trusts.
"Tell A Friend" script eliminates the chances of being
blocked because they use the information inputted by
the sender. This allows for wider spreading of this
marketing method.
With the e-mail would be a brief description of the
company or site that your sender was at. This allows
for the introduction of either the site, company name
or its products. These usually include another tell
a friend script.
Then the process begins again. As more people use the
"Tell A Friend" script, more and more people will know
of the existence of the sponsoring company or site.
People who read the ads inside the mail who like what
they see will click on the link and visit the site.
This drives traffic to the site resulting in a great
number of potential customers.
"Tell A Friend" Script Availability
A "Tell A Friend" script is very simple and does not require
a complicated method of programming. In fact, you can copy
& paste a script and simply put it on an intended page.
Finding one is even simpler. All you have to do is go to
a search engine and type in the search box “"Tell A Friend"
script” then press enter or click go.
In the search results page you will see many links that
will direct you to a site where you can get a tell a
friend script. It would just be a simple matter of
looking and searching for the script and copying it
to your intended web page.
With a "Tell A Friend" script viral marketing strategy
you can drive traffic to your site which could potentially
spell profits. This is a simple harmless script that
offers great benefits for low cost along with great
creativity and foresight.
It is necessary to have patience in using a "Tell A Friend"
script. If your chosen media doesn’t get the mileage that
is expected of it, it may take some time before it gets
spread or shared. But surely many people will see your
ads and there is great probability that they will visit
your site increasing your traffic flow.

Driving traffic to one's website is definitely one of the
biggest concerns every website owner faces. And why not?
When you've built a website, no matter how beautiful the
graphics are, and no matter how keyword-rich and
informative your articles are, it will be useless
unless you have visitors over to your website.
Unless you are a marketer who easily earns $25,000 using
just one promotional email, spending on PPC advertising
is not an option to you. You'd definitely prefer traffic
tactics that cost little to nothing.
1. Submit reprint articles to as many places as you can.
We all know that article marketing is one of the many
free ways to gain traffic.
But to make sure your article marketing efforts are
successful, write informative articles with a captivating
title to get the webmasters' and ezine owners' attention.
Submit to article banks and forums with high traffic
because this is where most people visit. You should also
send your articles to ezine owners because it's easy to
reach your prospects this way.
2. Create a free ebook and submit it to as many places
as possible, like free ebook directories, giveaway events,
traffic exchange, and others. In what way can you gain
traffic from a free ebook? Simple. In your ebook tell
your readers to visit your website if they want to learn
more on the topic you've written in your free ebook.
3. Create useful posts and tag them on Digg. There are
thousands of readers waiting for useful, informative,
and sometimes controversial topics which will be popular
and viral over time, leading to numerous trackbacks and
visits from people all over the world. If your post is
really popular, it might be even featured on its homepage.
So where can you get useful and controversial posts to
start with? For one you can start looking for news in your
industry. Lurk in forums to see the most popular topics

I'm sure you will find something to post about if you

4. Use Digg and Technorati to find the most popular blogs
relating to your industry and post useful comments with a
link back to your site. When you post a useful comment on
others' blogs, people who scroll down to read other
people's comments will find your link and will likely
visit your site because it's related to their interests.
5. Create a free gift and reward your visitors with an
additional gift if they tell their friends to sign up
on your site using your tell-a-friend script. To make
sure they will want to sign up, create an exclusive gift
like a report not found anywhere else, and brand it with
a professional ecover.
6. Do a joint venture with your fellow ezine owners by ad
swapping, recommending each other's websites, and so forth.
7. Use Ebay's About Me page. How? Sell an ebook, and on
your product description entice your visitors to visit
your About Me page for more tips concerning their
interest, and on your About Me page recommend your
websites.
8. Create free stuff (like postcards, wallpapers, etc.)
and list them on high traffic freebie sites.
9. Make a Squidoo page using low-targeted keyphrases,
and from Squidoo page link back to your website and
all the free gifts you offer.
10. Create a product with Master Resell or Giveaway Rights,
which can be a report you've written or a video tutorial
teaching how to do something. Link back to your website
using the product's thank you page, by making a .pdf file
stating its usage restrictions, or a Read Me file. This
way people who receive it from MRR sites, auctions,
giveaways and other places will visit your website
for years to come.
Driving targeted traffic is a popular concern which does
not need to be costly if you devote extra time everyday
to it. The key is to always use different strategies,
learn from other people, and track your results.
