Happy New Year and I can hardly
believe it is 2010!
We had flurries last night and woke up
to between 5 and 8 inches of that glorious white stuff, depending on
where we live in town. As my house is down a little hill that gets
drifts and over-blow, I guess it would be called, I was the lucky
winner of the 8 inches, lol.
Strangely, as, I suppose, snow acts as
an insulating factor, although it is only 11 degrees outside so
far today, it is warmer in my house than when it was in the 20's the
past week.
After months of missing them all
terribly, I finally got to see my oldest daughter, Crystal, my
son-in-law, Chris and my almost four year old grand
Princess, Madison and now nine month old grand Prince, Aiden on
Christmas Eve:
Needless to say, this was the
highlight of MY Christmas :-)
Madison will be four on January 11 - I
really can hardly get my mind around that. My son, Justin, will be
22 on the 22nd and it seems like just a few years ago that I brought
that preemie home from the hospital. With my *baby* being 17, I can
actually say that my kids are grown up now and am really and truly
starting to feel my age, lol.
Rim Digest and I will be celebrating
TEN YEARS together on February 10. This is another milestone that is
just mind-boggling to me. As far as I can find, we are the longest
running marketing ezine left. I find that so awesome and even more is
the fact that so many of you, my beloved subscribers, have been with
me for 4, 6, 8 or even the whole 10 years. Thank you all so much, I
love my subs!

Featured Ads
I have limited this space to TWO
ads in any one issue for the past 5 or so years. I do not plan on
ever turning this ezine into a huge ad sheet and do my best to find
some value to bring you with each issue. This said, the featured
ads, again, limit two in any issue, are $20.00 each or 6 for $100.00
AND are archived on the web site for at least two, if not three,
years, in the archived issues.

Using Blogs As Sources In Articles
Depending on what type of blog that
you have, it might be a good idea to advertise your blog using
articles.
For example, say you know about
jewelry and gemstones, and your blog is a place where you post
information for people to read about jewelry.
Submitting an article to a website
such as Associated Content can be very instrumental in bringing people
to your blog.
A good example of this would be if you
wanted to talk about the common misconceptions about the colors
of gemstones.
You could write about the fact that
people assume that gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires and rubies
are each ONE color, when, in fact, the truth is that those stones
come in a variety of colors and hues.
Then you can use your blog as a source
for your information, as you have already blogged about
those gemstones.
The great thing is that some places,
like Associated Content, will pay you for the articles that you write.
So, if you sell jewelry on your blog,
it's like being paid twice for your knowledge. Of course, this is
just an example of the way you can use articles to advertise your blog.
When you are writing an article, be
creative. You don't have to be an expert at what you do. If
you enjoy writing stories, you can say that posting stories on blogs
is a new and different way to share your stories with others.
Then, post your blog link as your
source and you have people checking out your blog and your stories.
