Wow, is it June already? Where is this year going?
Almost 100 degrees each day for last five BUT a week
before that we were freezing.
12 days ago, our neighbors in Joplin, Missouri got hit with
the worst tornado in 60 years of US history - over 100
people
lost their lives, 1/3 of the town was destroyed - many left
homeless and unemployed as houses and businesses were lost.
It was said to have winds at almost 200 MPH and was 3/4 mile
wide and 7 miles long.
We had a real scare last Wednesday - we were under tornado
warning for 3 hours and then "just" a watch for 6
more-
there was a twister 30 miles west of us and here a lot of
huge trees were uprooted and other minor damage, but,
Thank GOD, we were all fine here.
This has been a really terrible year, so far, for these
tornado disasters - reportely already twice the norm for
this time of year and it is still only June.
