Apparently, last Tuesday or Wednesday, I got bit by a

brown recluse spider. It was right smack dab between

my right baby toe and the next one. I spent two days

soaking my foot in antibacterial soap and slathering

on antibiotics, to no avail. Friday night, at 5:30 pm

I had finally gotten to the point I could barely walk.

There was a big blue and black bubble the size OF my

baby toe in between those two toes and a big black

streak and knot underneath. I drove myself the 30 or

so miles to the nearest hospital, thank goodness for

cruise control as again, it was my right foot.

By the time I got seen in the ER, the doctor was shocked

I had waited so long and appalled that I had driven

myself. My toes were blue so he feared I must be

diabetic so was not going to lance the bubble to

relieve the pressure until blood tests came back

to say I was not. Needless to say, with the ER

freezing and having to wear sandals as I could not

get a sock or shoe ON that foot, my toes on both

feet WERE blue, BUT, tests came back as I had told

him they would that I am NOT diabetic, so he cut

the bubble open, drained it and cut a lot of dead

or dying skin away.

IMMEDIATELY the pressure was released and although

I am still limping a bit, not quite a week later,

I am on the road to mending and all is well. Whoa,

I was lucky that I did not wait any longer.

Like a LOT of Americans, I not only do not HAVE

any medical insurance but cannot afford it OR

the $63 or more to go to a doctor.

Luckily, it is the LAW that they have to see

and/or treat you in the ER's and then you can

make payment arrangements. If I had gone to the

doctor, she would have sent me to the ER anyway

so I avoided that expense and got enough samples

to hold me over til the next day to go to the

drug store and get the medicines prescribed by

the ER doctor.

Using Blogs As Sources In Articles

Depending on what type of blog that you have, it might

be a good idea to advertise your blog using articles.

For example, say you know about jewelry and gemstones

and your blog is a place where you post information

for people to read about jewelry, submitting an article

to a website such as Associated Content can be very

instrumental in bringing people to your blog.

A good example would be to talk about the common

misconceptions about the colors of gemstones.

You could write about the fact that people assume that

gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires and rubies are

one set color, but the truth is that those stones

come in a variety of colors and hues.

You can then use your blog as a source for your

information as long as you have blogged about those

gemstones.

The great thing is that some places, like Associated

Content, will pay you for the articles that you write.

So, if you sell jewelry on your blog, it's like being

paid twice for your knowledge. Of course, this is just

an example of the way you can use articles to

advertise your blog.

When you are writing an article, be creative. You don't

have to be an expert at what you do. If you enjoy writing

stories, you can say that posting stories on blogs is a new

and different way to share your stories with others.

Then, post your blog link as your source and you have

people checking out your blog and your stories.

Here are 100 top blogging tips :-)

In work, the greatest satisfaction lies - the satisfaction

of stretching yourself, using your abilities and making them

expand, and knowing that you have accomplished something that

could have been done only by your unique apparatus. This is

really the center of life, and those who never orient

themselves in this direction are missing more than they

ever know.
