I could not manage an issue last week. Between doing a HUGE
set of back-to-back transcription jobs and aggravating PC
problems by the time I COULD send an issue, it was already
Sunday, so I figured my server and your mailboxes could use
the rest.
Monday at 4:30 pm, my Mom, who is 78 and lives in a really
nice retirement "home" just up the road from me, fell HARD
on her face, lost consciousness, had a seizure and was rushed
to the local NON-trauma equipped hospital.
My brother, who is her Medical Notify person and has her
Power of Attorney rushed out this way from the St. Louis
county area where he lives and works and called me on
his way. As luck would have it, my car cannot make more
than local trips at this time AND my 18 year old daughter's
car was in the shop, so I had to call a friend who lives
25 miles away to come pick my daughter and I up and take
us to where my Mom was.
We spent five hours in the ER with her not knowing if she
was even going to make it. Her face was all cut up and
bruised, she had head injury and more ... was in and out
of it the whole time and you have never heard anyone
praying as hard as my daughter does - she is more of the
wide open vocal Pentecost, I am the quiet reverted from
Baptist TO Pentecost and my brother is a really quiet
Baptist who converted to Catholic, BUT I guarantee
you God heard all of us AND my Mother says she felt it!
Well, they shipped her to Barnes / Jewish in St. Louis
at 10:30 that night and my daughter and I still had
no idea if we would even see her alive again.
God is SO GOOD! Yesterday, when I called to check on her,
they asked if I wanted to talk to her! She was sitting
up in bed eating her breakfast. :-)
Better yet, today when I called, she told me they have
her up using a walker and plan to ship her "home" to
the full care nursing side of the home where she lives.
Due to this long update, there will be no article IN
the section, I will just have an intro and a link to
go see it.

"Irish Job Interview"
Murphy applied for a fermentation operator post at a famous
Irish firm based in Dublin. A Pole applied for the same job
and since both applicants had similar qualifications, they
were asked to take a test by the Manager.
When the results were in, both men had scored 19 out of 20.
The manager went to Murphy and said, "Thank you for coming to
the interview, but we've decided to give the Pole the job."
Murphy: "And why would you be doing that? We both got 19
questions correct. This being Ireland, and me being Irish,
surely I should get the job."
Manager: "We have made our decision not on the correct answers,
but on the question you got wrong."
Murphy: "And just how would one incorrect answer be better
than another?"
Manager: "Simple. On question number 7 the Pole wrote down,
'I don't know.'
You put down, 'Neither do I.'"
