Well, I
am getting parts of this issue done at
11pm on
Tuesday. Madison got here Monday afternoon
and
*work* as I know it has been a joke, lol.
I
forgot that 2 to 3 year olds ask a million
questions
an hour, good thing " I do not know"
is an
acceptable answer, whoa ...
Having
a lot of fun with the visit but there is
a
reason God rarely gives 54 year old women
two
year olds, LOL. Man, if I had one hour of
her
energy to last me ALL DAY. :-)

Help,
How I Can Keep My Focus on My Business
When I Live In an Unfocused World?
We live
in a high tech age which drives us to lead busy
and
demanding lives. Everything is about speed or better
still
"instant", especially on the internet.
We find
ourselves rushing from one thing to another with
our
minds in high gear almost around the clock. In the
midst
of this we somehow need to find a way to stay focused
on our
activities (our business and our lives) if we are
going
to achieve anything.
Here
are seven things we can do to help compete against
the
"noise" around us and ensure our focus stays steady.
1. We
need to recognize that a well defined life purpose
is
essential. We need to know where we are going in life.
It has
often been said: "If we don't know where we are
going,
how will we know we have arrived when we get there?
No
business or activity should be in itself our life's
purpose,
rather the means to achieve our destiny.
Do you
know where you are going? If not, take some time
alone
to search your heart. One thing you can do is write
down
everything that comes to mind. This will help clarify
your
vision.
2. Our
business goals need to be well defined and written
down.
Once our life purpose is defined, we can then focus
on our
business goals.
Writing
out our goals and purposes will bring clarity in
our
minds. This will make it easier to stay focused.
3. We
need a defined strategy for our business.
The
strategy is the working plan or "roadmap"
designed
to reach our objectives.
4. We
need to have defined DAILY plans. These plans are
actually
"daily pieces" of our strategy. They are like
the
stages of a journey, with each day taking us closer
to our
destination.
Note:
We need to make sure that our daily plans are
achievable
yet challenging. If they are not challenging,
then we
can find ourselves getting distracted with other
things
that may seem more interesting. If they are not
attainable,
then we can get discouraged and lose focus.
5. We
need to make sure we are educating ourselves on
a
continual basis. Knowledge is advancing at jet speed.
We need
to keep up with our area of expertise. I recently
read
that we need to be spending 2-3 hours a day reading
and
studying things related to our business to stay sharp.
6. We
need to maintain a balance in our lives. Life is not
just
all business. We have a body to take care of with
right
diet, exercise and sleep. We also have friends
and
family around us who need attention.
7. We
all need time alone, just to be quiet away from all
the
influences we face every day. This time alone helps
to keep
our minds clear and our focus sharp.

A
visitor to a certain college paused to admire
the new
Hemingway Hall that had been built on campus.
"It's
a pleasure to see a building named for Ernest
Hemingway,"
he said.
"Actually,"
said his guide, "it's named for Joshua
Hemingway.
No relation."
The
visitor was astonished. "Was Joshua Hemingway
a
writer, also?"
"Yes,
indeed," said his guide. "He wrote a check."
